Do I need council permission to renovate inside?
Interior works that don't touch the structure, façade or roof are usually exempt from municipal licensing. Listed buildings and protected areas have their own rules. If in doubt, check with the Câmara Municipal before you start.
I bought my kitchen from a shop. Can I ask for fitting only?
Yes. Choose the option where you buy the materials and explain it in the description. Professionals will quote for fitting and connections only.
When can renovation work happen in a residential building?
Portugal's General Noise Regulation (Regulamento Geral do Ruído) only allows works inside residential buildings on working days between 8am and 8pm, with a notice posted showing how long they will last. Check your condominium's rules too.
